The King's Arms
There are fewer pleasures than sitting in a nice pub and stuffing your face with some roast meat..so today we went to The King's Arms in Monkton Farleigh, a picturesque village just outside of Bath on the outskirts of Wiltshire. The pub itself is old and dark, with low beams, thick solid wooden tables, heavy curtains and proper cotton napkins. And a bar serving real ale. The food's not bad either - we all had our desire for quality roast meat perfectly met, and each came with an enormous homemade yorkshire pudding, which is an important detail often missed. One big flaw though? Only two roast potatoes. Two! At home I'd have, oh I don't know about six, minimum. Not including the cold leftover ones. But if you can deal with that then it's worth a visit, and pretty good value at £11.95.
